Attorney Moe Ahmad
Attorney Mohammad (Moe) Ahmad is a former prosecutor from the Cook County
State's Attorney's Office. During the years that he we was with
the prosecutor's office, he tried thousands of criminal, traffic and
DUI cases. He has tried cases as both bench and jury trials. Moe is experienced
in felony, misdemeanor, DUI and traffic cases. Currently, he is a lawyer
serving the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs as a private lawyer.
Moe received his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University.
With justice and advocacy in mind, he attended Western Michigan University
Cooley Law School where he earned a Juris Doctorate Degree with a concentration
in litigation. While in law school, he was recognized with an honors scholarship.
As a prosecutor with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office,
Moe had a reputation for being well-skilled, fair and honest. He received
the prestigious award as "Prosecutor of the Year" in 2011. Moe
taught a course for the Illinois Department of Transportation to state-wide
prosecutors regarding "Defense Attorney's Hot Topics." Moe
was a guest speaker on a panel presented by IICLE regarding the topic,
"Beyond the Courtroom" with a well-respected jurist and other
prominent lawyers. Moe devotes his spare time to pro bono work such as
high school mock trial competitions, guest speaking at law schools for
various student bar associations pertaining to the practice of law, trial
skills and what to expect in a courtroom and as a practitioner. Moe was
also nominated and received the distinction of "Top 100 Trial Lawyer"
by The National Trial Lawyers Association. Furthermore, in 2015, Moe was
nominated and received the distinction as the top "10 Best Lawyer
in Illinois" from the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys
and "Top 40 under 40" from The American Society of Legal Advocates.
In 2016, Moe was honored by the NWSBA with the distinct honor of the "President's
Award" for his work and leadership in the legal community.
Moe is a member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. Moe was elected
to the Board of Governors for the Northwest Suburban Bar Association.
He is currently the chairman of the criminal and traffic substantive committee
for the Northwest Suburban Bar Association as well. Moe is an active member
and holds a leadership role with the Suburban Bar Coalition. The Suburban
Bar Coalition is an organization comprised of multiple legal bar associations
tasked with reviewing and investigating sitting judges running for retention.
He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar
Association and the Arab-American Bar Association. He is licensed to practice
law by the Illinois Supreme Court for the State of Illinois.
